Defibrillators

Defib

DEFIBRILLATORS – are now in place at Washington Village Hall and Pixie’s Corner, Heath Common.  It is very important to understand that the defibrillators can be used without any prior training. In the event of an emergency retrieve the defibrillator unit from the nearest location and rush back to the patient. Follow the instruction on the unit to switch it on. Once on, the unit will give simple straight forward verbal instruction. Try not to panic and follow them carefully. Don’t worry it will not shock the patient if the equipment is set up incorrectly or the patient does not in fact need to receive defibrillation. Please replace the unit when you have finished with it.

If you have used the unit or have an concerns regarding the equipment, please phone the Parish Clerk on 01903 893548 or use the parish email contact clerk@washingtonparish.org.uk.

TRAINING VIDEO

A very informative video containing guidance on:

  1. Setting up the AED
  2. Using the AED
  3. Checking the AED

Setting up and Checking the AED is managed by Washington Parish Council but these sections are interesting to watch. Section 2 using the AED is a must see video. To access this helpful training video CLICK HERE.

We thoroughly recommend that you locate the unit and watch the instruction video just incase you need to use it, you never know. It will be 10 minutes well spent.

Doorstep Selling

DoorstepSelling

Do you know the ‘Doorstep selling regulations’? If someone sells products and services worth over £42 to you the customer at your home or workplace they must provide information to you, including your right to cancel. Failure to provide this information is a criminal offence.
We are interested to know how many of Heath Common residents suffer from doorstep selling and the types of trades or products they offer. Is it a nuisance to you?
